Yes, it's Dick and Jane and Sally.  If you are a baby boomer, you know who these children are.    Most of us were fortunate to have learned to read with primers and readers from the Scott Foresman company.  Scott Foresman made several readers over the years but none were as popular as the Dick and Jane series.  Even though the artwork of the children with names like Tom and Susan were identical to Dick and Jane, we seem to only remember Dick, Jane, Sally, Spot and Puff.  Carole Kismaric and Marvin Heiferman have written an excellent book, Growing Up with Dick an Jane: Learning and Living the American Dream. Just for fun, we have put together some covers of these Dick and Jane readers and some of the artwork to show the progression of how Dick and Jane changed with the times.
